Can a Georgia Promise account pay for computers, tablets & accessories?
Yes, within limits. Laptops up to $1,000, desktops up to $500 and tablets up to $500, each one per student every two program years. Monitors up to $200 (one per student a year), printers and internet hotspots up to $200 (one per household a year), headphones up to $100 and calculators up to $200 (one a year).
Do GSNS or SSO scholarships cover computers, tablets & accessories?
No. GSNS pays only tuition and fees at an authorized school, and SSO scholarships are tuition grants, so neither can be spent on computers, tablets & accessories.
Which rules and exclusions apply?
| What's allowed | What isn't |
|---|---|
| Calculators up to $200, keyboards and microphones up to $75, webcams up to $50 and mice up to $30, each limited to one a year. | A second computer inside the replacement period |

What does this look like for an Atlanta family?
Families with two Promise students get a device allowance for each child, not one per household.
How do you buy it?
Through the Odyssey marketplace. Promise purchases are made from the approved products and providers listed there; tuition payments to a participating school are started by the parent in the portal. Transportation is the only expense GESA reimburses.
Rules are summarized from GESA's Georgia Promise Scholarship Eligible Expenses list (dated May 8, 2025, still the list posted on mygeorgiapromise.org on October 28, 2026), the Promise family timeline and Testing 101 sheet (July 23, 2026), GaDOE's GSNS documents and the SSO statute (O.C.G.A. 20-2A). Only items offered in the Odyssey marketplace can be bought, so check there before you pay. A summary, not legal advice; GESA's current rules control.
